Bio
Jen has been working as a chiropractor in various settings since she graduated from the bay area in 2009. Since then she has studied various chiropractic modalities, and helped hundreds of people heal through auto accident injuries, during pregnancy, and in all ages and stages of life. Born and raised in Germany and Japan, Jennifer was exposed at an early age to the diversity of perspectives on health, nutrition, and spirituality. An interest in discovering the connections between these varied perspectives led her to college to pursue a degree in Biology along with a yoga and meditation practice to further her fascination of the power and connection between the body-mind and health and vitality. Following her undergraduate education, Jennifer decided that chiropractic school was the best application of her education, experience and desire to facilitate the wellness of others. Understanding and applying energetic and structural forms and techniques of chiropractic to support wellness, Jennifer has witnessed miracles in the body’s ability to heal through chiropractic. She serves on the Alliance of New Mexico Chiropractic Board as Secretary and considers her most important job raising a healthy family with her husband, Billy, daughter Quinn and son Wyatt.
Jennifer holds a B.A. in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder, a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) from Life Chiropractic College West and is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) from Bhava Yoga studio in Albuquerque. She also holds certifications in Network Spinal, and the Webster technique (a chiropractic approach to balancing the pelvis for optimal pregancy and birth).
My Story
My journey in becoming a chiropractor started with the desire to help others and heal myself. I was first introduced to Network Spinal Chiropractic as a student in 2005 and I quickly fell in love with how gentle and eloquent it was. After getting care consistently over about a year I was amazed at the changes in not just my body but my whole life. As a child I grew up overly "sensitive" with colic, digestive issues, food intolerances, emotional dysregulation, anxiety, depression, and I lacked a general sense of well-being. This made me search and seek help in life. When I started to do yoga I noticed a big shift in my mental well-being and I continued to search. Having grown up in a natural home, our philosophy in life was to not just address the symptoms with a drug but get to the root of the issue. I have leaned on nutrition heavily for my entire life but it only got me so far. The same for therapy and other healing modalities. All have been very important steps on my journey but for me Network Spinal has been and continues to be an integral part of staying aligned with myself physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. For several years I lost touch with giving and receiving Network care only to come back to it when I was going through another very challenging time in my life after having my children. I was suffering from postpartum depression, rage and anxiety, I loved my kids dearly but couldn't stand to be in my own "skin" as most nights I only got 2 or 3 hours of sleep and was not functioning very well. Coming back to Network felt like coming back home to myself. I am so grateful to have had it in my life and it is my deepest desire to help others move through their transformative times with ease and grace. I stand in awe of the healing that every person is capable of and it is a true Joy to witness the miracles unfold everyday.
